With the HotBend we have realized significant time savings. It is faster than other benders and it allows us to work with all sizes of pipe; we can even reshape pipe that is already bent. Heating in the trench allows us to keep the pipe flexible and place it properly.

Frequently Asked Questions Product Comparison

HotBend works like a jet engine
by mixing propane and a mixture of air
through a four phase cycle:

Intake
Compression
Combustion
Expansion

This cycle not only produces heat, but also converts some of the heat to kinetic energy. The fan shaped heat of combustion has a speed exceeding 100 MPH, mixing immediately with the surrounding air to create a uniform blast of heat at 125,000 BTU.

How it works

Heat Capacity ..... 125,000 BTU / hr
Propane Consumption ..... 5.7 lbs / hr
Operating Pressure ..... 22 PSIG
Weight ..... 3 lbs, 3 oz
Air Consumption ..... 21 CFM
Emission ..... .017 CO / Co2

Speedy - Heats up to 40% faster than box benders, with NO warm-up... It saves you hours of labor.

Versatile - Makes combination bends and offsets of any radius and length on any size pipe up to 8" in diameter, even bend up to five 3/4" pipes at the same time.

Safe to use - The interlocking trigger mechanism prevents accidental ignition.

Portable - Powerful, yet only weighs about 3 lbs. Needs no electricity - heats quickly using propane in any weather.

What size pipe will it bend?

½" to 8" (both schedule 40 and schedule 80)

How do you use the HotBend heat gun?

Simply hold HotBend 10" to 12" from the PVC pipe until it is pliable enough to bend into the desired shape. Then wipe the bend with a wet cloth to "freeze" it into place.

No matter how much PVC conduit - ten feet or ten thousand feet - the Hotbend is the tool for you! The HotBend Heat Gun The HotBend Heat Gun
